If you go downtown you can catch the River Walk and Alamo for only the cost of parking (usually between $8-12 for the whole day). The River Walk has an old theatre (Aztec Theatre) with a 10 minute show in the lobby for FREE!! There is a mall on the River Walk that is very unique to cool off for a while. Mission Trial is something neat, if you like history and being outside. There are 3 major missions that are FREE to walk through-San Jose Mission is the best b/c it's been beautifully restored. Also, if you're military, you can get your whole family into Sea World for an entire day for FREE-through the "Here's to the Heroes" program. Another thing you can do to save money is buy an entertainment book-they are $10 each. The coupons in there get discounts to six flags, sea world, movie theaters and restaurants. And most discounts are buy-one-get-one, so you can buy a few books and end up only paying for half the family to do whatever fun activities you desire!
