Is it safe to take a tour alone, as my husband will be in meetings all morning, I would like to take a tour of the city. What do you recommend?

Any time we travel, it is wise to be catious and aware of our surroundings, but tours are a great way to learn about a new environment with the aid of a guide. The Chicago office of tourism suggests The Chicago Greeter. You can pick a neighborhood of interest, and participate in a group tour of that area.
