Is it possible to do day trips to Boone and Maggie Valley from Asheville?

Hi!
Yes, it is certainly possible to do day trips to Boone and Maggie Valley from Asheville.
Boone is a little less than 2 hours north. Take i-40 to 221 through Marion to Linville/Banner Elk to Boone or take i-40 to Hickory then north on hwy-321.
As for Maggie Valley it's about 45 minutes West of Asheville and it is a beautiful drive out i-40 and hwy-74/19.
Have fun, all three areas are gorgeous.
