If yes, how do I get to the beach? I'll be coming with Carnival.

Carnival (at least the one I was on last May) drops you off at this little tourist mall with a bunch of vendors and a Senor Frog's. It's not easy (or advisable, really) to leave the fenced in area on foot, but you can take a cab from there if you can find one.
I did the 65-foot Catamaran snorkel & beach trip through Carnival. Was it worth $55? No. But we went snorkeling, had a margarita, and finished the day having a sunset beer & sail. And there's nothing wrong with that.
