What about Phoenix? Weather will be warmer (though I ain't knocking NYC, whatever time of year it is). You could check out the Heard Museum's new "Life in a Cold Place" exhibit, plus the Phoenix Art Museum's Cezanne and American Modernism show. Also try the exquisite but homey comfort food at the Biltmore's newly opened Frank and Albert's restaurant. I just ate there and it was delicious.
