I will be in Boston on June 14th on my way to Tanzania. I would like to do something in Boston, and I wondered with just one day available what you would suggest to see and where to eat?

C- a Duck Boat tour will show you all around Boston and will even take you into the Charles River. book early. Less touristy -rent kayak on the Charles or rent rollerblades on Blades Board and Skate and then carry them over to the Esplanade. Beacon Hill -Walk in and out of the streets and Louisberg sq (Kerry'shouse). You could tour Fenway Park and then go for a drink at Bleecher bar. For food, walk through Union Park in the South End (make sure you are not alone as it is not a super terrific area but it is safe enough) and then go to Beehive (hip music (not loud) bar/restaurant - get there early) or B&G Oysters. Take a cab over to the North End (Italian section). Try to walk on the quiet side streets as hanover street is very busy. Dinner -Harvard Square,Cambridge (other side of river from Boston)- Take the Red Line subway for the few at Charles STreet. See street performers/walk thru Harvard Yard. Dinner at Upstairs at the Square. Coffee at Algiers Coffee.
