Ah, the scenic I-95 parkway... better yet, days in the car with your mother-in-law... (sorry, just messing with you!). That's a long way, 1,000+ miles, so it's a good idea to take your time. And there's certainly plenty to see (not to mention plenty to skip!). Without trying to be too exhaustive, I'd recommend the following stops to logically break up long driving days: if you don't fancy the beaches of northern Florida/southern Georgia, push on to Savannah, Georgia (http://vacation.away.com/georgia/travel-v2-cid1895-savannah-cid400173-travel.html), where you should spend a night or two at the Hamilton Turner Inn; maybe budget a day in Charleston, SC (http://vacation.away.com/south-carolina/travel-v2-cid7023-charleston-cid400173-travel.html), before forging on to Fayetteville or Raleigh, NC, for a relatively uninteresting overnighter; next, swing around Richmond, VA, for an overnight stop in historic Williamsburg (http://vacation.away.com/virginia/travel-v2-cid324424-williamsburg-cid400173-travel.html); move north for more history, monuments, and (free) museums in Washington, D.C., budgeting at least two nights; stop over in Philly for a night if you guys have a night to kill before rolling into Galloway. A nice scenic alternative to the Richmond/Williamsburg leg would be to cut inland and up onto Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive; stay at Skyland Resort (http://blogs.away.com/travel/2008/04/stepping-into-s.html). Hope this helps. Have fun -- and regards to the mother-in-law!
