I am interested in visiting Boston, for my first time in July. I was hoping to stay in a hotel on the beach or in a beach area but a close drive to downtown? Can someone recommend a nice place to stay during the summer that might fit these criteria? Any suggestion or advice is much appreciated :-) regards, brian

Boston's not really a beach town, though you can find sand and swimming on the 17 islands that comprise Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area. It's about a 45-minute ferry ride from downtown, plus some of the islands offer camping if that's your thing. There are also a number of beaches that you can reach via public transit, like Carson Beach and Revere Beach. Check out this guide on Boston.com for some more ideas: http://bit.ly/a9GT6C
