I am going with a friend in January for a week to visit Hollywood, Cali, etc. I have been looking at places to stay that are in West Hollywood areas that are very reasonable. I just found a condo on here for very cheap nightly Rentals. Do you think I can trust the vacation condos and apartments on here, or should I just use a hotel?

You probably will be fine, but perhaps you should ask the owner to give you a few names of former guests so you can follow-up with them.
