I am coming to Paris for business the end of the week and keen to spend one day on the country just outside of Paris. Where do I go? How do I get there and what do I do? Thank you SO much.

I would go to Monet's home in Giverny. It's a small town located on the right bank of the Seine River. The gardens at Monet's home are lovely. To get there by train/bus, take the train to Vernon on the Paris - Rouen - Le Havre route. That leaves from the Saint-Lazare Paris station. From Vernon, you can take a bus or walk 7 km to Giverny. The buses can be found outside of the train station. To walk, from the train station in Vernon, take Albufera St. and cross the Seine. At the roundabout you will see signs for Giverny, but those are for vehicle traffic. Instead, continue straight across the "Route de Giverny" and take the path to the right, just before the drug store. This is an easy walk of about 5km along the abandoned path of a former railroad.
