Hi Peg,
To get your beach tags, you buy them the first day you walk on the beach. There are vendors at every entrance. Last year's rates (I believe they are the same this year) were 5$ a day, 10$ for 3 days, 13$ a week (Sat - Sat) and 25$ per season. By the way, children under 12 can go on the beach for free.
It is a great spot ... enjoy
