Depends on the train you take. Deutsche Bahn's Intercity Express (ICE) speeds you there in around 3.5 hours; slightly slower local train takes 4.5 hours. Obviously, fares on ICE will be more expensive. Typically, the earlier you book, the cheaper the fare.
