There are now two direct flights to Accra from the US. Delta has been flying direct for some years from NYC-JFK. It currently flies 3 days a week, with duration of 10 1/2 hours. United began flying direct this year from Washington Dulles 6 days a week, and the flight is 10 hours.

Depends where you're flying from on the flight question, plus I don't believe you can fly direct to Accra, the capital, out of the U.S. It's actually on the same timezone as London (GMT), so Accra is five hours ahead of cities on the East Coast of the U.S.
