It's probably less than a mile to the beach, through the sleepy town of San Juan del Sur. There's some great beaches nearby, including Playa Gigante and Bahia Majagual. Head a little further south to spot turtles hatch at La Flor Wildlife Refuge between July and January. Da Flyin Frog is a 2-km canopy tour through the forest behind San Juan del Sur. Lastly, if your kids can surf, Guasacate is a popular local surf spot about 30 km up the road. Have a great trip.
