Highlights include horseback trail rides through the scenic Shenandoah Valley, lots of Civil War monuments and historic sites, a wild animal park, golf, minor league baseball, and a dinosaur-themed park called Dinosaurland. As a personal aside, I'd definitely recommend a trip to Sky Meadows State Park (about 20 miles southeast of Winchester), where you can enjoy monthly stargazing events with local astronomy buffs.
