In our experience, the best value (read: cheapest) and most rewarding venues for on-the-go families are parks and forests. And you're in luck with this drive, with two outdoor options catching our eye: 2,856-acre Maurice K. Goddard State Park and 21,122-acre Pymatuning State Park, both in PA and both along your route. There's hiking, fishing, and biking, plus a couple of small swimming beaches at the latter park (just outside of Andover).
