Coming to NYC in June, looking for a hotel under $100/night. A friend and I are coming, her first, my second. First trip for me was right after 911. Looking to have a good time for 4 days. Have booked one play already, but just want to enjoy the sights.

Try the Hotel Alexander http://hotelalexandernyc.com/index.html.
Location is fabulous, in the Upper West Side. Subway at the end of the street. Rooms are very clean. Private rooms (it's not a hostel), shared bath rooms are very cheap! (i'm going next week and paying $54/night!) Bathrooms are spotless and there are at least 3 on each floor. Private bath rooms available, too. Rooms are not fancy at all, but who cares? If you do stay, make sure you check out the Shake Shack for the best burger ever. Get it to go and eat in Central Park!

A hotel in New York City for under $100 per night is not the easiest place to find. The Gershwin Hotel does offer dorm style shared rooms for $33 per person. I'd also suggest looking on discount hotel sites for good deals.
