There a number of maps of Rincon de Guayabitos available online, though they seem to be of varying quality. Best one I could find was at the following link (though, obviously I can't verify accuracy of listings; it should give you a good idea about the general lay of the land, however): http://mapzonline.com/nyrt/rdgmap.html. As for retirement resources, I'd suggest checking out community sites such as ExpatForum.com (http://www.expatforum.com/expats/mexico-expat-forum-expats-living-mexico/), CanuckAbroad.com (http://www.canuckabroad.com/forums/canadians-in-mexico-vf18.html), or ExpatExchange.com (http://www.expatexchange.com/expat/index.cfm?frmid=254), where you can ask for advice from other travelers and retirees. This article from CBS' MoneyWatch also includes some useful general advice about retiring abroad, including fact that you should visit a place two or three times and talk to expats on the ground for the best guidance bout how to proceed: http://moneywatch.bnet.com/retirement-planning/article/8-cheap-places-to-retire-abroad/462345/
