Anyone have any suggestions as to where the best place to backpack would be for about a 5 day jaunt in Oregon (more specifically Willamette NF) around the first week of June? Secluded backcountry that offers good fishing and allows campfires would be ideal. Thanks.

While on a train trip to Seattle from California, a couple of guides came on and told us about Oregon.

One of the things they mentioned is that you can camp/ backpack on fire lookouts that are high up in the mountains. You can find out from rangers in Oregon about it.

And I am sure you know about the Columbia River Gorge area and the area around Crater Lake.
