Key West isn't somewhere I'd readily associate with being ideal for moped exploration, Tammi. At least in my experience. The road leading into Key West is quite busy, and everything around it is quite built up (think, strip malls and low-rise motels). The only island in the direct vicinity that's accessible by road bridge is Fleming Key, but this is a military installation and so is off-limits to the public. I think you might be better off renting bikes to get around, though my real feeling is you should find a boat charter or rent sea kayaks to actually get away from the downtown Key West hubbub. Lots of beautiful spots to discover, but they're only accessible by water!
